17 January 2024 – First Blog Since January 2023

Happy New Year to you all from beautiful Cornwall (albeit belated).  Several people have queried as to why I have not been active on my website.  Well the reason is, in February 2023, the builders cut through my internet cable and I also no longer had a desk top to use.  But all OK now and Spencer, who looks after my website, has got me back up and running.

I must tell you about a fabulous cafe I have been introduced to in Lostwithiel Cornwall, which I highly recommend.  For those of you who love crystals, incense and all those sort of things, then this is the cafe for you, if you are ever in that part of the woods. Ashley makes great coffee, cakes and snacks and is also a fantastic photographer. His shop is called White Light Crystals & Coffee and the address is 3 Quay Street, Lostwithiel, Cornwall, PL22 0BS.

On a recent visit to the shop, I was drawn to the photo of Men an Tol, produced and framed by Ashley, which is featured above. I just had to buy it.  It is now in pride of place in my little Cornish cottage.

Buying the photo, prompted me to revisit Men an Tol.  The last (and first) time I had visited this Sacred Site there were a lot of tourists about.  This time, I had the walk and the whole place to myself and was able to appreciate the land with a different perspective after having read The Dance of the Dragon by Paul Broadhurst and Hamish Miller.  This time I wanted to experience the energy of the Apollo Line which runs right through the holed stone and it’s two standing stones.  In their book, Paul and Hamish follow the Apollo and Athena lines and write of Men an Tol’s mystical virtues and how locals frequented it for its miraculous healing powers.  The first time I visited Men an Tol was with my dear friend Fay and after I had crawled through the hole she commented on how much younger I looked. I must admit, on seeing the photo she took, it was not too dis-similar to a photo I had at aged 14!

Men an Tol is not an easy place to find. Take the road north out of Madron and after about 4.5 miles, you will come across a sign post on the left and a small parking area on the other side of the road.

Take the footpath and after .5 of a mile you will come across a stone stile and another sign post.

Step over the stone stile and ahead of you will be Men an Tol

Despite it being bitterly cold (snow came in the next day) I was able to not only benefit from the healing energy, but to do some earth energy healing work as well.

On my return to the car (after leaving offerings on the land), a robin showed up in the road.  You can just about see him in the photo.  Robins always seem to turn up when I am doing this sort of work.

I continued on my pilgrimage, with the next stop being Lanyon Quoit, which will feature in my next blog.

Love and hugs
