The St Cleer Holy Well is easy to find and is sign posted on the main road going through the village of St Cleer.
The well was in ruins until 1864, when it was rebuilt, in Gothic splendour, as a memorial for the local vicar. It now stands amidst modern houses and bungalows.
Stories tell of the its miraculous virtues and powers of healing, however, at the time of my visit, there was no water and sadly, the well was covered with metal bars. Even so, connecting inside with the Mary line, the place still had a peaceful energy.
A few feet away stands a Celtic Cross, marking the outside of the Mary line.
The statue, I am presuming, is St Cleer.
