Madeira Experience 2026

Back from a wonderful holiday in Madeira and here are some of the photos. Firstly the plants and flowers.  If you have never been before, then time it for the Flower Festival.  Unfortunately, most of my snaps are videos so I haven’t uploaded them.

So many of the plants I had in my garden in South Africa, like the Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Bouganvillea and Jacaranda

We went on many excursions, which included an open top, hop on hop off bus. If you have never been to Madeira, you must experience the cable car, the toboggan, the skywalk,

the Funchal market and Camara de Lobos (where Sir Winston Churchill painted).  We amused ourselves watching the locals playing cards there and instead of money, they used pebbles.

And the quaint little houses on our East Madeira excursion.

This was definitely a relaxing holiday for me and I am glad I experienced it.
