This year has gone so fast, and by all accounts, next year will be even faster. I decided to celebrate the last New Moon of 2025 by spending time in nature. I just love walking along the Pentewan Trail from the Cornwall Spa in St Austell, through to Pentewan.
As you can see from the photos, the White River that runs from St Austell was really white. Full of clay which had run down from the pits after the torrential rain. You can also see fallen trees and a little waterfall, that was never there before. The forests here are quite ancient and almost have a magical, primordial feel, perfect for a new moon meditation. And with the comet 3I/Atlas making its closest approach to Earth – a once in a millions of years event – made this New Moon quite special.

I was followed by robins and I managed to take a photo of one posing on a fence

And then a beautiful view from Pentewan beach

Earlier on this week I took some photos of fallen trees that had been washed down the River Fowey and had lodged themselves by the bridge at Lostwithiel. Apparently, there seems to be some “passing the buck” with regard to who is responsible for clearing them.

I also joined a walk from Bodmin Parkway to Lanhydrock estate and again, more fallen trees. A thought popped into my mind while taking the photos, that these ancient trees had been standing for hundreds of years and were now toppling and that this would be something that would extend further than nature.

The card on this blog has been designed and produced by my long standing friend Meg Chapman (Megsart). I will be doing a blog for her in the new year so you will be able to see all her work.
In the meantime, Yuletide Blessings to you all.
