Mother nature was good to us all here in West Penwith. No rain, some clouds, some blue sky and sunshine with a breeze. The north coast might have been a bit more windy but I was fairly sheltered on my walk from Lands End to Carn Les Boels.
This was my first attempt from a different direction. Before, I had driven via Polgigga (pronounced Poljigga) to Porthgwarra, where I parked my car. This time, I caught the bus from Relubbus to Penzance, hopped on the open top bus which took me to Lands End. I must say this route was tougher, but so glad I did it, because the scenery was amazing. Here is a cornish Durdle Door not far from Lands End.
And here is one in the making along from Lands End
I used my Ordnance Survey map on this pilgrimage, and followed the South West Coast Path. I don’t know how much of this pathway will be open in the future as the coastal erosion is quite evident.
On route, there was a standing stone in the pathway along with other simulacra (stones that represent faces or images) and I wondered how long they would be standing there before erosion moved them to the sea.
I knew I was nearly at Carn Les Boels when I approached Nanjizal Bay (pronounced Nanjizzel). Absolutely fabulous and with breathtaking colours.
I had time to spare before 12 noon so I ventured down to the beach at Nanjizal. As you can see, it is littered with boulders but I understand there is sand when the tide goes out
And what a surprise! A little waterfall. I just had to collect some spring water for my Harmony Day essence.
From the beach I detoured off the South West Coast Path to head for Carn Les Boels. As you can see, it was quite a steep climb and I am so grateful to have the health and strength to do this now.
Nearly there!
Asking permission to enter and birds flying by gave the answer
This is as far as I ventured. Maybe if I were younger I would have dropped down to the lower ledges, but not at my age and on my own.
It was here I settled down for my Harmony Day meditation. At the Node, where the Mary and Michael Dragon lines enter the UK. The intention was No to War, Unity amongst all beings and turning grief into joy. At these times, I always ask for messages and I was given several and the one I will share is “we are all playing our part, no matter how small or big we are”. As I opened my eyes to the beautiful view, with the next stop for the alignment being Mexico, I looked down to see loads of little bees resting on the thrift amongst the rocks.
I had to drag myself away from this peaceful place. Totally on my own and at one with nature, giving a gift of bird seed to the crow on the rock. I could have sworn that was the same crow, same place as my last visit. My friend Fay says its The Guardian. Den always said the Crows are protecting me! Synchronicity, as I always ask for protection when I am out walking. As I am writing this, I went to retrieve my mobile phone to download the photo of the crow and knocked my vase of flowers over. So I take that as a yes and I need to draw this blog to a close and have a rest. By the way. On leaving this sacred site, it seemed the world and his mother descended on the place. How wonderful I was left on my own for that special time.
Synchronicity again. On my way back, as always, I say hello to fellow walkers. I bumped into a couple, I would say older than me, who were going in the opposite direction. The gentleman said that he recognised me from last year. He said “you were the lady who told us about the Michael and Mary lines and the Node at Carn Les Boels”. They are James and Matty from Warwickshire, and have been visiting this special place for 35 years. They often come to watch the sunset at this Sacred Site but were totally unaware of its significance until I mentioned it to them last year.
Then back to the 3D world at Lands End, but I couldn’t help noticing a stone circle.
I hope you enjoyed reading this. Harmony Day and Solstice Blessings to you all.
