My goal for this journey was to find the Quoit and to find a gentler route to Zennor Hill. Here are some directions. Again, Zennor Quoit is not an easy place to find as no sign posts!
Feeling a little bit better on this day, I was propelled forward by the beautiful rainbow (see featured image) and with knowing it was Full Moon in Virgo (my sun sign) at about 12.30 hours.
There are two options for parking. Coming from St Ives on the B3306 about a mile before Zennor there is a layby big enough for 3 cars. I parked there. You could also park a little bit nearer by this beautiful Simulacra, but only room for one car. The choice is yours.
But wherever you park, you need to walk a bit further in the direction of Zennor and when you come to a property on your right called Eagles Rest (I think that is the name), you will find a pathway (not a designated Footpath) opposite the house.
Follow the path and you will eventually come to a split in the pathway. If you go right it will take you to Zennor Hill and the Logan stones. You need to take the left path to Zennor Quoit. Again, in February it pays to wear wellies. Plus my advice is to wear old or tough clothes as the pathway is narrow so you could get caught by the bushes!
After a while you will see a ruin of an old engine house (tin mine) on the horizon.
Just after the ruin you need to take the right fork in the pathway (i.e. you will head west)
It is at this point you will see Zennor Quoit on the horizon
A truly magical place
Before I squeezed into the Quoit, I dowsed outside and found the edges of the Athena Line (I paced 16 so might be less as I am very short). I have never connected with her energy before. She runs right through the Quoit. Please refer to The Dance of the Dragon by Hamish Miller and Paul Broadhurst. In this photo I have tried to show how small it is inside.
This one shows the view from inside the Quoit and me inside trying to do a selfie!
It was an amazing connection. Such peace and calm and so many messages. In fact, I didn’t want to leave. The only way I can describe the energy was, hypnotic.
I headed back to the ruin and then back down the path and went left to investigate Zennor Hill from another direction.
On the way I passed by Aleistar Crowley’s derelict house. Beats me how he ever got a Land Rover to this place!
Continue along the pathway and you will arrive at a gate
Go through the gate and you will find the rear part of the stones that I had found the day before. Certainly a more gentler route. Not the same from a different perspective.
And this one could be a chair, although I wouldn’t sit on it with that water!
Coming back out of the gate I ventured further along the path towards the coast following the Cornish stone wall and there were even more stones.
Please keep to the pathways. On the way to Zennor Quoit there are many mine shafts just feet away from the path.
My eldest son said to me, “Ma, don’t you feel lonely out there all on your own?” My answer was “No son, I am not alone. I am in good company, where I belong”.
On my return to the Old Cottage, I was able to prepare my essences in time for the Full Moon.
Well enough of my ramblings. I think I am going to pour myself a glass of red and snuggle up in front of my log fire!
Love and hugs
