Cornwall Reunion

I am back in Poole after a fabulous few days in Cornwall. Den’s army friend, Barry, organised for Roy and Sally Edwards and myself to stay at his home in Cornwall.  Both Barry and Roy served with Den in the regiment and it was fabulous to listen to their memories, which I have recorded, so my grandson Edward, can listen to when he is older, and get a better insight into the life of his grandad in the army.  We had such a laugh, especially when Roy remembered Den as the “pin up boy” when he joined the regiment in Aden. I really enjoyed listening to Sally who told me all about the evacuation of the wives and families from Benghazi, when it all started to kick off out there.

Thank you Barry for the magical mystical tour.  I just loved St Winnow’s Church

and the creekside village of Lerryn.

You certainly live in a really beautiful part of the world.
