Badbury Rings, Dorset in the mist

Den has transitioned

I don’t like to use the words die or death because Den didn’t die at 9.30 am on Thursday 28th February 2019, he transitioned. It’s been a bit emotional for me over the past few days and I thank Den for giving me two fabulous sons who are supporting me through all this. It is only now that I have plucked up the courage, emotionally to post this blog.

So deep breath, here we go. I am organising a celebration from 1pm on Sunday 10th March 2019 at our home in honour of Den. He wanted this get together in January, but sadly his health declined so rapidly we just couldn’t go through with it. It will be an open house so people can come and go as they please. At 5pm I will be holding a ceremony for him, just before Sunset. Please pass this information on to those you know who do not have internet access.

Den will be cremated the following morning at Harbour View, Lytchett Minster and that will be a private affair. I have organised representatives from Amity Lodge and his Regiment, with the Regimental flag and Regimental wreath on his coffin. The Regiment have also organised a Bugler to conduct the Last Post.

Den is now ready at the Chapel of Rest at Tapper Funeral Service, 32-34 Parkstone Road, Poole. For those who wish to visit, you will need to ring first to book an appointment on 01202 673164. My heartfelt thanks to all of you who have sent cards and flowers. The outpouring of grief has been incredible.

Blessed Be
